LSI has recently been
involved in several new and exciting areas in the mining industry.
Initially, LSI was involved primarily in typical
DTM and volumetric mapping, but more recent projects have LSI
performing time-sequenced topographic modeling to facilitate
subsidence monitoring, and more recently precision slope determination
for ore slurry pipeline engineering.
Mining projects have taken LSI to three continents and a wide range
of environments, from the boreal forest and plains of Canada to the
jungles of Borneo and Madagascar. Many of these projects are now
implementing ortho-mosaic imagery to assist in their engineering
analysis of the project areas.
