Past experience in transportation corridor applications has led LSI to 4 continents involving highway route selection, transmission line corridors, and pipeline corridors, among others. LSI’s most recent “transportation only” corridor project was a challenging one involving pre-engineering route selections from the Pacific coast through the high Andes mountain passes in Ecuador. This project posed significant challenges with respect to the data collection, altitude and severe slope issues.

LiDAR technology has revolutionized engineering planning by allowing accurate cut and fill volumes to be generated in a balanced mode to minimize materials movement costs typically experienced in the construction phase.
